With “Sangria” climbing its way to the top of the country charts in mid-July, Blake Shelton now has 20 Number One singles to his name. Fifteen of those are consecutive chart-toppers, a record-setting streak that began in March 2010 with “Hillbilly Bone.” To celebrate, Shelton is rounding up his biggest songs for the upcoming Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits compilation.
Set for release October 23rd, Reloaded retraces a decade and a half’s worth of popular music, including the kickoff single of Shelton’s career — 2001’s “Austin,” which stayed at the top of the charts for five weeks — as well as duets like “My Eyes” (with Gwen Sebastian) and “Lonely Tonight” (with Ashley Monroe), both of which were released last year. There’s also a bonus song, “Gonna,” which made its debut last month and is currently camping out inside the Top 20. If it too climbs to the top of the charts, Reloaded will technically have 21 Number One hits. [more at source]
